Spotted diesel today at €1.579 at a Total station close to La Baule Escoublac. Stopped and gave the van a real treat by filling up with the good stuff at €1.65

It can currently be got for a similar price in Spain, Pre the invasion of Ukraine we had been on a par with France and only about 10 cents more than Spain.
Obviously big war profiteering going on here
They owe everyone in this country €1,245.82 in windfall taxes, will they give it back, I think not, all the while they sprout about making the energy company's give back windfall profits.

Pre the invasion of Ukraine our prices were on a par with France and only about 10 cents higher than Spain. It definitely looks like our 20 cent subsidy has been stolen by the trade here.
Suvern prices £1.77 average here. Am down Cornwall then Dorset (Weymouth ) next weekend. Full now so should get there and part way back without paying their prices

Total seem to be the cheapest in France (cheapest i got a couple of weeks ago at Arras was €1.65 pre €.30 cent ) but looking at a thread on another forum the prices vary quite a lot and lots of queues and empty pumps.

There's definitely profiteering here but the subsidy in France is €0.30/l. The difference between the cheapest and dearest in France seems to be much bigger than here, we paid in the order of €1.70/l in places during August but in places it was €2.20/l.

Price quoted is with 30 cents discount till end of September. Prices are generally more expensive the further east you travel.
In Nancy area typical prices are around €1.75, however I have seen some over €2. Total definitely the cheapest with supermarkets being 10 to 20 cents more expensive.

I was looking at some old fuel receipt's I tend to keep them and put the odometer reading on them every time I fill up.
24/11/2019 €1.289 per ltr. Go. Kylemore rd D12
13/01/2020 €1.359 per ltr. Kildimo Limerick
11/01/2021 €1.179 Per ltr. Ballyheane Mayo
22/01/2022 € 1.559 per ltr. Go Kylemore rd D12.
08/09/2022 € 1.899 prt ltr. Sallynoggen Co Dublin.
The Government are taking 47.10% of that, and they have the balls to talk about putting a windfall tax on oil energy company's.

WTI Crude was about $85 per barrel and Brent Crude was about $88 per barrel back on January 22nd. when you paid €1.559 per ltr.
Today they are $82 and $86 respectively.
So why the fu@k are we now paying about 40 cents more, not counting the 20 cents subsidy?
That represents a very handy extra 25% profit, on every liter, somewhere between the oil well and the pump.
In Austria now, got a fill up at €1.939 right at the top of the Fern Pass. From past travels this station seems to be a few cents less than elsewhere in Austria. Most stations seem to be €1.969 with a few up to around €2

There are queues at the Total stations. Saw a guy in a MH the other day ruin a wheelcap when he went in between two pumps at the wrong angle. Took him about 10 minutes to work his way through with 3 people including Madam giving directions. He was back and forth with cm to spare, felt sorry for him but you just knew he was going in wrong

Saw on my way home over the weekend that the discount in France (Total stations) is until the end of September, but the Spanish one is until the end of the year if I remember right.

This also explains that Total are giving an extra 20 cents at present above the French state 30 cents discount thus they are the cheapest virtually everywhere. Total are therefore 50 cents below ‘market’ price.
Phased reductions still apply in France to the end of year

WTF .
The price of a barrel has been hovering around $90 or so for the past month and in recently has dropped a couple of %.
So why have prices gone up 15¢ - 20¢ at the pumps last night.
Now over €2 per litre again in the Nass Newbridge area.
