I have to agree John, having sailed with Brittany , Irish Ferries and Celtic, they are pretty much up there at the top!

Yeah I think Celtic are excellent and would be hard to find better service anywhere. At least they treat their passengers like guests and look aft them and nothing is too much bother for the staff.

One black mark for Ld already. I have booked to go in July,i had booked a 4 birth outside cabin. Decided to bring 2 grand kids with us wanted to show them puy du fou, contacted LD lines they wanted 90e extra 🇧🇭 .

I remember doing the same a few years ago with celtic and Rory gave to me foc

Aaa give them a chance guys, Ken, 4 of you are getting to France for less than Celtic's price with 2 free children., you are still doing ok. I suppose time will tell!

Yeah but I assume that he has a 4 berth cabin booked. If that's the case sure it would cost them nothing to let the 2 kids go and imagine the good will that would create.

I know that Jack but I assume that the boat is full with their offer and they can only carry so many passengers and if they took two adults they would be worth more, that is the way these crowd make their money. I was booked to come back with air Arran from Glasgow before Christmas on the 9pm plane, and I was finished my work early and was dropped off at the airport at 3pm. When I asked could I come home on an earlier flight they wanted €250 euros to do so. Needless to say I waited but a mate of mine was on the earlier flight and it was only half full. The company that I was working for paid for the return flight and I am sure it was a lot less than €250

Yes thats 45e each return,i have a 4 birth cabin booked, and no one else is going in there with me,so i cant see why they want to charge me 90e. When i asked she said its what the company charge. 🇧🇭

The computer says no  I think it's unfair as the cabin has the space and you will be spending money on the boat, but at the same time they need money to keep operating. Try changing a flight with Ryanair to see what charges are like.

It's the booking process I was referring to and making a comparison with. Overall it just pushes Celtic link to the top of the list with customer service.m

There's no doubt about that. I reckon as far as Celtic Link is concerned Customer Care/Satisfaction is a priority. Full marks to them for that!

Any truth that the ferry crossings from Ireland with LD lines have all been cancelled?

from their site

Our new service from Rosslare to St Nazaire links Ireland to the West Coast of France for the first time. Why not visit popular French holiday locations such as Brittany, La Baule, La Rochelle or Bordeaux? Onboard the Norman Atlantic relax and take it easy during your sailing - we have comfortable cabins for you to rest in and great facilities to enjoy whilst being served by our friendly crew.

- Foot passengers are not currently carried on this route. We will update the site if there is any news on this.
- We are currently unable to carry pets on this service. We are currently working on this and will update the site when we have more news.

Service recommences 18 June 2014.

Bakebook..

For anyone concerned or interested in travel with LD Lines Rosslare - St. Nazaire this year, I have just had a couple of e-mails informing me that my crossings in with LD Lines April have been cancelled and that a no-cost alternative with Stena Line Rosslare - Cherbourg is available. This will apply until 18th June according to DFDS who run LD Lines. I have been in touch with their Head Office and they have confirmed this arrangement although at this moment in time I have had no reply to the e-mail I sent (at their request) saying that I was accepting the change of carrier and route. Sailing dates are not quite the same with Stena as they were with LD Lines so if you have booked with LD check you e-mails as they are looking an immediate response.

We cancelled our bookings with Ld Lines today impossible to get any information on what is happening or why the Ferry was cancelled from Ireland to Spain.

Its strange as they have been advertising in the freight journals about the new route, although the Stena/Celtic Link story still hasn't appeared in them so they may be just behind the times

price for route looks competitive ...until you add cabins! also could be fun in Biscay in summer storms!! in 2010 from rosslare to cherbourg it was F9 and horrendous, the missus and 2 kids were ve ill and they would never consider this route as a result.. Weather is worth considering if you are thinking of this option.

Just been on their web site and could have booked for the same times as we are travelling with them and no problems , only £200 more now than when we booked.
