Love Kinsale! Great interesting town. Going to explore it better today and then make our way to Cobh then onto Ardmore for the weekend. At this stage of our holiday we want to park up for a few days and chill before reality sets back.

Thanks to other craic'er s..........

If you park on Low Road in Kinsale, there are two biggish P signs, if you park to the left of them further from town, it's free. Park to the right of them closer to town you have to pay 1.50 per hour between 10:30am until 6pm.

Cobh was great, love the Aire and love the town. Done the Titianic experience and actually enjoyed it more than the Belfast one, even though it is tiny................... dunno

Now sitting on Ardmore Aire, WOW, what a spot!! great beach, great views and the sun is out, which always helps.

This photo I took earlier, I think is a bit crazy,

I see you are not on your own, you should see it on a good summer's day, Enjoy, if the weather is ok you should do the Cliff walk.

We were on our own when we arrived, 5 vans here now. Wind getting quite bad and supposed to be getting stronger.

I had to engage the 5 rock system.....

Ditto on that cliff walk. We go there quite often with the doggie.

The Cliff walk was amazing, I even convinced Julie to do the whole walk :)

Headed to Dungarvan after Ardmore, had a great day/night with some fellow craic'ers who made us two lovely meals and put us up for the night!"!

Many thanks Siobhan and Paul!! great nights craic!

Unfortunately now home :( but looking forward even more to our next trip. I reckon I could full time no problems :)

Batteries caused us problems but we managed........ We now want Satellite on the van..... Once the frideg was fixed it made our Holiday so much better.

I'll post more photos later and a few insights as I think of them. If you've read this far, fair play to you :)

Not sure how this image will work but I'll give it a ago....

I spotted your Van in Ardmore last Friday when I was out walking my dog. I didn't say hello, well... because it was 9am, your curtains were closed, and I wouldn't be knocking on anyone's door at that time of the night!

Glad you enjoyed your hols, looking forward to more pics!

I can't believe you were on the borders of the Sunny South East and didn't pop over to visit Hook Head, Kilmore Quay and not forgetting the finest beach in Europe, Curracloe. Enjoyed reading about your trip, glad you enjoyed it.

Doonbeg has a little campsite, you know the one? there is a guy on MHC that promotes it quite a bit, we must say along with those who have visitied.

Strandcamping, we went there for a few days, a little longer than we had intended as we were waiting on a part being delivered from LTS to get our fridge fixed.

With great help from Jamie assisting we got it fixed :)

I can only reiterate what others have said about Strandcamping:

Jamie and Amanda are extremely pleasant and very helpful people. They run a great spotlessly clean campsite. It's our type of site, we stayed in Nagles the night before arriving and although we appreciate how friendly and spotless it also is, it's just too wide open for us.

We appreciate the more secluded and private pitches of Strandcamping, not that we intend to hide from people but when you wake up in the morning and go out sand sit on a chair the last thing I want, at least until I wake up, is someone glaring at me or even talking to me from the pitch next door. Jamies pitches are just private enough, without being unfriendly. Also as it is surrounded by trees it is a nice setting.

Walk across the very narrow non busy road and you are on this... (tide was in)

If you haven't been then go!

One thing we will say that's negative and is quite a big deal for us, is the fact you can not yet empty the toilet cassette. Most know about it and we knew before we arrived, also Jamie is on the case and hopes to have a remedy soon. You can of course use the super clean toilets on site.

Finally............... if wondered what Jamie looked like............ :D

Ring of kerry..........

What a place! I have said previously in this topic about the roads etc, some brilliant some ok and some very bad, I don't think there is any need for certain direction to be travelled unlike Dingle peninsula.

Anyhow.......... how could you not love this...............

Drove up to The Fort On Kinsale, don't do what we did  drove through Scilly and Summer Grove? absolute crazy, glad I didn't meet anyone coming the other way.

I'm sure I mentioned somewhere to take the top road! You did well to get down that way. Might be worthwhile adding this info to the POI.

There is a cracking pub in Summer cove though (Bulman).

Thanks Ally for a great running blog on your trip.
We hope to spend a bit of time over Christmas in that area & again spend 2 to 3 weeks next summer touring around the south instead of France, just for a change.
Your blog will be great for referring back to in advance of our trips

I am sure you did mention it, but didn't even know it was there until it was too late :) - I laughed, and thankfully the ones in The Bulman laughed as they had to take their chairs closer to the building to allow me past. It was a bit crazy, luckily no one was coming the other way.

We loved Inch Beach and wish we had of spent more time there, it is a busy place and we were worried about tides etc, which of course we should of checked before going there.

You can park in the Car Park... if you get room (image)

But how nice is it to drive a Motorhome onto a beach!, I had a quick look and seen quite a few on it so decided to chance it, glad we did!

The dogs got great exercise as did we. Sand is quite hard at that point but does get very soft further along the beach.
