now,where to start...........
first of all we went on a small budget so what follows is what came out of that.we went for 13 days
we booked through stena using a 20% discount which we got at the time of the ploughing championships.sign up for the stena newsletter and they will email you around then.its worth it to pay the extra 10 euros or so for the flexi fare as you can cancel up to the day before sailing with only a couple of euro penalty.
there has been lots of discussion about differences between the irish ferries "Oscar wilde ship" and stenas " horizon".
the Oscar wilde is bigger and and has more facilities but it was 110 euros dearer with facilities that we would not use.make your own choice.
now Disney...
first of all you can stay in the coach car park in Disney at 30 euro a night( see below).we did and made it our base to explore paris as well.there is a lovely big heated toilet and shower block.
there is only toilets and showers open at that time of year.there is a tank disposal grid with taps but it was closed with no water.you are looking at getting water from the toilet washbasins and emptying cassettes down the toilet discreetly.
you have two options with Disney tickets. you can go with day or multi day passes or you can get an annual pass.
http://www.dlpguide.com/planning/booking/annual-passports/
we found the middle price annual pass was the same price as the 3 day pass but it includes parking charges as well.also if you have 5 people you get 20 % off, so basically 5 people for the price of four.
certain dates are blocked out for the passes, check carefully what days each pass gives you and get the right one.we got the middle one.dont forget they are 12 month passes so if you can get back to Disney before the end of the year, even better
we went to paris on the days that were blocked.
we used the train for transport into paris all the time.we went to val d'europe to the supermarket by train.
we got these from the train station
http://parisbytrain.com/paris-…ecouverte/
they were 25 euro per person but you had all trains metros and buses for the 7 days.
make sure you get the 5 zone one.they only come as a Monday to sunday type ticket.
so depending on the day you get there may not suit
we went to Versailles for the day using them from Disney.we met a family of four who had bought standard day return tickets from Disney to Versailles which cost them 84 euro just for that one trip.
the weather was dry but it was freezing.warm clothes, hats, gloves full tanks of gas.you will need your heating.
when we researched the trip al the info we found seemed to be to stay somewhere and then go to Disney.we turned that idea around and stayed in Disney and used that as a base.
hope that helps
