Mine Passed the other day, every thing ok and sound.

I emptied every thing out of the boot, was told I did not have to clear out inside, only anything that was Glass or Breakable.

The van is Plated at 3,400 kg, which is quite low. I Presented van for test with water emptied and 1/4 Tank of Diesel. The test weight was 3,024 kg.

On return home reloaded the van with all the stuff, Filled water tank, went to the petrol station put €60 Diesel in, 3/4 full tank. Then went to my local `Co Op weighed the van, weight this time was 3,180 kg, so Add two people @ say 175 kg.
So that's a Total of 3,355 kg, only 45kg left that's not a lot left to play with. :( :-)

Ps. I do carry a Tool Box which is quite heavy and would weigh about 40 kg, I could always leave that out if I needed to, but it has saved me before in my old van. :D
Just goes to show the weight can add up very quickly. :(

Failed !! Doh !!

Nothing major thankfully. Headlights are LHD which I kinda suspected. Battery needs to be strapped in and a balljoint needs replacing.

So 2 I can do myself and the other one is handy enough.

Glad I didn't buy a pig in a poke.

Off camping tomorrow !!

Hey scooter,

The lights failed cause they were LHD. A bit of insulation tape was good enough for the guy's in Wicklow but I have read of other test centres refusing to accept it. I just lashed the tape on and they alligned them when doing the retest. A lot cheaper and less hassle then looking for RHD units :D

Good luck
