Thanks moomat for the info. I will certainly do that but will have to wait until Tuesday until the one I've ordered on a sale or return basis comes to see if it's what I need.

Hopefully you're sorted so! I was looking for a while for something to suit mine too.

Just to mention I've no affiliation with Europower O-) My post sounded a bit like a sleazy infomercial! :D

I thought I had got the correct battery but when I went and looked at it yesterday whilst it had the terminals in the right place it was far too small. The guy has taken my old battery and is sending it off to see if he can get one the exact same.

You have the patience of a saint jack, I would have binned it and bought a new one by now. Hopefully this way you will get a result.

Don't give up Jack - I hate throwing anything away.
unless it is knackered and doesn't work and then straight in the bin. (after taking off the plug or anything else that might be used in the future).

I agree Shivster with you on this one. I can't cope with this throw away culture that exists today. If something can be repaired and brought back into use I take that route. I don't like to bin anything hence my garage is bulging at the seams with stuff I haven't used for years but you never know when it might come in useful.

Well after all the chasing I've got to admit defeat. My last hope was dashed today. I can get lots of bTteries the right size etc with the terminals on the at the end of the battery on the same side but this is of no use and simply can't be adapted. Thanks anyway for all the pointers. I'm not going to bin it as some of the parts might come in useful in the future.

If it's just to boost the starting of your various vehicles why not get a large lorry battery and put it on a parcel trolley with a set of jump leads
