Just got this reply to my complaint about Ballyboley.
Mark
Thank you for your email which has been passed to me for reply as the forest manager with responsibility for this area.
I’m sorry your recent visit to Ballyboley forest was such and unpleasant experience for you.
Over the last number of years this forest carpark has become very popular with dog walkers and as you state a small of irresponsible dog owners are failing to clean up after their dogs.
In an effort to reduce this I will liaise with the local council dog warden and try to get them to visit the area and inform dog owners of their responsibilities.
In addition I will erect signs to attempt to exclude dog walkers from the caravan site area and move them further into the forest.
Unfortunately reduced staff and resources mean I am unable to have regular visits to the area. However I will instruct my staff to talk to dog walkers who they may see on their visits cleaning the area.
thank you

Hopefully Ballyboley will come up to the standard that I have found in the other sites so far.
I have thanked him for his reply and told him that there is great interest in the scheme on this forum.

In my opinion a very honest reply from the forest manager, the real problem lies with the inconsiderate dog owners and hopefully some of them will read these complaints.
Hopefully this guy gets some help to rectify this problem.
I am following this TITTS theme with interest as we ourselves are thinking of it for next year.

It's open to anyone so feel free to add TITT's etc that are not on there, I have only added the ones we have been too. if someone could add Ballyboley that would help us as we have been going there 5 times and will make it this weekend
Finally made it to Ballyboley, love it! Will be used a lot by us as it's so handy to home. Fantastic spot with great views.
Loads of signs up warning dog owners to clean up there dogs mess. It is still quite bad, in fact near the gate i couldn't believe how bad it was. But we have seen a few dog owners cleaning up so maybe it is working. I was prepared to tell any we seen to clean up but all have so far.

Water tap is push top with no hose attachment,so bring a watering can or arrive with a full tank. boil water before drinking notice beside the tap.

Ally, using the link I can still see the 3 points I added but the others have now disappeared. Sorry I'm no expert with google maps. PS. Glad the signs are up in Ballyboley. Hope it starts to make a difference.

Just had a quick look at the TITTS map and am I right in thinking that some of the sites have car parking adjacent to the TITTS locations, and if so what is there to prevent you from "wild camping" in the car park

Went to Ballypatrick TITTs, not that impressed. Tree's have been cut, you can see and hear the road, not as nice as others and a guy there in a caravan with two Akitos who looks to be living there. No phone signal, no data, no TV.
Moved to Glenariff TITTs, not overly impressed either, although a lot nicer than Ballypatrick it was very wet and dirty, maybe try it again in the better weather. No phone signal, no data, no TV.
Moved onto Glenarm and then we had to head home today unexpectedly.
