Hi All, HELP!!
Our van is blowing really cold air from the cab heater so we have to put the room heater on when travelling! Must be some air lock or something. Anybody going to Vantastival who might know how to fix that? Please, all I see is loads of black hosepipes under the bonnet 🇧🇭 . It is a Fiat Ducato engine, 2010, we will be down on Thursday.

Thanks
John & Emily 🇧🇭 🇧🇭

Hi guy's,

Paul left a black bag after himself at New Year and was wondering who it was I think Pat it could have been you who picked it up for him.
Anyway anyone has it could they bring it, its a battered old thing but he uses it for festivals!
Thanks in advance.

Yes Siobhan, It should be still in the van, It was in it when we were in Aherlow and I forgot to give it to you.

Ok just been reading the alcohol policy on the vantastival, no bottles allowed even in vans? Is every1 transferring their alcohol to plastic btls before leaving home? Was under the Impression we could bring btls in our vans and then transfer before going into arena - what abt cans??

It's ok. You can bring as much booze as you need, just no glass to be carried to stage areas or other feature areas. Cans are fine as long as you get rid of them in the many bins around the site. There are a few bars around as well. It is a small venue so you are never far from your van to top up!

It may sound daft but have you checked the water level in the engine, if it's ok try running the engine until it gets to temp and then turn the heater dial right down for a few minutes then right up full again, this may help to move the airlock.

Swear words are censored but there is certain spam words like the one above that may result in an automatic ban, it is to stop spammers from posting their adverts for such items.

It has only happened once and I will not reveal who too

Good job you are like myself and not great with the spelling, Ken!
Just think of the shame of being banned, Parked in a corner under bushes at Vantastical, blinds closed all day and the only sign of life from the Motorhome is the aroma of freshly baked bread at 5 am.
By the way that bread sounds interesting, Anna tells me you can't get enough of it. Would you recommend it? :D

We - My hubby & I have just come back home from Vantastival, we had a great time x we made a few days out of it. 6 nights in fact x We were parked in the general camp area opp MotorHome Craic Head Camping area. Just an observation x I thought that when we were in your campers that we as campers took extra care to leave no mess !! I have to say that when we left on Monday midday x I was ashamed x by the mess that was left. by fellow campers around us. and sorry to say there was some mess in MHC area as well as everywhere else !! The guy who owns the estate where it was held may change his mind about letting vantasival be held there again. We stayed a night in Carlingford at The Four Seasons Hotel, in our camper x as we went to Newry to Tescos to stock up, visited Greenore a really fascinating place x Then into Athlone for the night in a well hidden parking area.
On another subject - It was a pity about the loos ! The team who cleaned them x didn't do a great job x as some loos were full of SH*Tx I could only see one truck going around so maybe 2 trucks would have managed better x
I look forward to next year for vantastival :D

I will disagree, I was one of the last to leave and checked the MHC area before leaving, it was the tidiest part on the site. So unless someone put rubbish there after we left then I can't understand what you are saying.

I will add that the MHC area was used as an overflow as we had some space left they parked vans there that did not belong to MHC. Also it was VERY windy as you know on the Monday, a lot of stuff was blowing about.

I agree the mess from some of those in the middle was atrocious but that's quite typical of what is left behind at a festival.

I know the organisers so will speak to them reference the MHC area but I very much doubt they will have any complaints.

When i was leaving on Monday midday there was rubbish blowing across from where the VWs were parked,I picked it up and put it in the black bag at the end of the field.
I agree with you about the toilets they were the worst ever a complete health hazard, and the amount of glass bottles around the place, where were the security that was checking this.

The toilets are typical of a festival and in fact far from the worst I have seen. I used the ones near the main stage that were sitting in the middle on their own and had no problems with them. The ones near Vanhalla I wouldn't even have a look at after last year.

That's what the toilet in the camper is for :)

One of the great things about Vantastival is that there is very little security needed, there is never any trouble so some will take the piss and bring glass away from their vans.

I agree with Ally. I left at 3.00 and there was no rubbish left in the Mhc area. The wind was horrific and before I left two tents blew into the fence at the vw area. All bin bags were removed from the MHC areas, bags were bundled in the vw area but a complete mess was left in the centre next the toilets where a group of younger lads in work vans abandoned everything including tents tables, chairs and all their rubbish when the left.
The festival workers were collecting the rubbish as I left but the wind was scattering all the loose rubbish.
My dashcam was running as I was leaving so I can upload the video to demonstrate this.

If you still have it, please do. I left just after you and know our area was tidy then. I reckon it's been the wind.

It sounds x like there may have x been a few x festival x virgins at vantastival who x may have higher expectations x than one should. X

I very much doubt the MHC area was littered by any member here. Re toilets there.... Try oxygen or Slane!

There was a camper next to us who came on Sunday x unpacked I think x everything they had x and when they left they did leave a lot of mess after themselves x I guess we are so used to been tidy we cant think about leaving anything behind x And it was very windy x I guess the mess was in the general camp area mainly x I wasn't critising x

I think if they had 2 trucks instead of 1 then the loos I think would be better. We only use our loo on board for pees only x as the smell tends to linger a bit don't you find x !!

I and most festival goers, those that regularly go to many festivals every year are disgusted at the rubbish that is left behind. It is a common cause of complaints by veteran festival goers on many huge festival forums.

But no matter how much we complain or try to get a message across there will always be those who will not bring their stuff home for a number of reasons. Rubbish left in tidied in bags or put in the bins is understandable, but to leave full tents, camping chairs, litter, wellies and much much worse is inexcusable.

The story that went around Glastonbury festival was, leave your rubbish it gets recycled, so most left tents etc. But the only way it got recycled was if you packed it up and took it to a recycling point, the rest got mulched.

Glastonbury introduced the phrase "Love the farm, Leave no trace" and it has helped but still not enough.

If you think Vantastival was bad, have a look at this:
