We have so much here both North and South to see and so many interesting places to visit. Just wish we were guaranteed the good weather and that some areas of beauty were more Motorhome friendly.

We plan to stay home this year mainly because we can't take holidays until late in August due to child minder requesting the time off. So I really hope we get weather like last year and then we will head to Kerry go up along the west coast and land in Belfast and then motorway home. Or at least that is the plan so weekend festivals between now and then.

Siobhán you are certainly very organised. I'm still trying to get our holiday organised and I am retired or supposed to be. I said somewhere else on this forum, if you get the weather in this country you don't need to go anywhere else. By the way theres an excellent Food Festival in Donegal town at the end of August and well worth a visit if you are that way. That's my good old home town!

Wow there's a nice wee park there overlooking the sea. I know Killybegs well as Ive got some land on St John's Point down at the Lighthouse. I'll get you the dates of the Festival. We were there last year and it was Fab lots of free food and drink. I told them about it in the hospital and now lots of them call me 'Father Jack ' and no prize for you if you know where that comes from.

It's really too remote and rocky for a meet and there's no fresh water etc anywhere near. It would be impossible to get a van parked on it anywhere. Believe me if I could I would have mine down.

We drove to the lighthouse =) never again scary trying to get the van turned thought we were going to rip all the doings of from underneath .

Yeah 2 vans were damaged last year one by the cattle and the other he hit a rock when trying to turn and ribbed the bottom and back off the van. He had to be transported away and the lorry that cam e to recover him got stuck and anither one had to rescue him. It's really no place for motorhomes.

Hi I'm new here so not sure if this post will get to where it should be.?? Just from reading the posts and checking out the site this festival sounds great. We have two boys aged 4 and 2 wondered if there was somebody that has attended the festival before that could give us some tips on where to park and what is available for them etc.

Parking is very relaxed and you can more or less park where you wish, assuming you arrive early enough.

There is a kids area so you maybe want to park near it, not that the festival is that big that even if you were the other side of the fest it would be to far away. It has quite a bit of stuff on for kids but to be honest children enjoy the freedom of running around in a child friendly environment and enjoy as much as the adults all the stuff that is going on.

Best advice: just turn up and take the fest as it comes you and your kids will love it!

Siobhan, suscribe and join us in the Motorhome craic designated area. There is already 20+ vehicle and many with kids, old festival heads and festival virgins. All only know and met each other through this forum, sure we're all great friends that have yet got to meet.

Yeah Siobhan the kids have a ball at these things! They just all hang out and run around like we did as kids. :up: If you subscribe then have a look at the roll call most of us add the names and ages of the children so yours will have plenty of play mates.
