A bit of a rinse to get rid of the green certainly helps.

Sorry I'm ruining a Defender topic :)

I only saw this now. Nice find Ally. Is it a new toy or are you going to flip it? Rare to find one without rotten skirts. Looks mint in this pic.

It's staying, I absolutely love it. So much fun to drive. It's MOTd but hasn't been taxed in years and it ended up of the system, currently in a row with DVLA to keep its original registration, I think I'm winning.
I even have the original tax book but that wasn't good enough, they even suggested I trailer it to the South of England to a Suzuki owners club so they could verify it and then they would let me keep the same registration. I said sure I'll take it to a local Suzuki dealer, nope, it had to be an owner's club and there isn't one in NI.
I then found out the club in England was for Motorbikes. That stumped them!

Longer story shortened, I finally got talking to someone senior and have sent all the information away with a letter and I will hopefully receive a new tax book for it soon, then I can tax it and drive it 😁

Managed to get a hard top for it in England which my son is bringing over at Xmas

It has never been welded and on first inspection it needed nothing. It was amazing! Unfortunately I had it over the pit and adding some waxoyl and I noticed a split in that bloody dreaded body Schutz 😠 I tore it off and found some rot at the bottom of a back arch, it's only tiny but was disappointing. I've welded it up now and have inspected every inch of the car and all the rest is excellent.

I'm now looking to see the best way to remove the Schutz completely and then waxoyl it. It seems petrol is the best, but what a messy job that will be!!

This looks ready for conversion to a camper. For sale in Hillsborough. Immaculate for its age.

Don’t think so Dave.... if it’s converted to a camper from the commercial tax category then revenue will want you to pony up more illegal tax..... if they can steal more from you then you better believe they will.

Thats of facebook, nearly every single vehicle is listed as Automatic, it defaults to that and no one changes it.

I was thinking, how could you have a proper 4x4 using an auto box, but I stand to be corrected

It's a right PITA when you are actually looking for an auto as I was. Search auto and they all come up. I assume it's because it is American that it default to that.

I did put in a suggestion to Faecebook, they want me to go to court, but I am acting like Zuckerberg and using the fifth.

I have a 4x4 Pajero automatic, Dave. I don’t know if it is proper or improper but it gets me down the fields and more important it gets me out of them too. It pulls like a Train and drinks like a sow. You are right a Manuel is better, you have to go down to the low box other wise it gets kind of confused and just will not move. When I got it first I thought it was terrible but then realised you need to turn off that anti skid button otherwise it was putting the brakes on whatever wheel spun.

Nobody would be harder to change than myself but after purchasing quite a few Mitsubishi shoguns and always insisting on Manuel gearbox I was stumped on my last purchase when the sales rep told me that they no longer do manuel.
After some sole searching I decided to go with the automatic and would now never go back.
