So it has came to pass, with the commercialisation of this festival season, the 12 days of Christmas is dead and buried. Bring on the new festival of the 12 days of Thursdays. 12 days of a different booze for each day.
But it doesn't feel right, it doesn't have a feel happy spirit about it.
Over the last few weeks in work, we had a few transition year students in on work experience. One young fella was telling us that since his school is multi culture/ religious experiment, the tree in the lobby is called "A winter tree" and the 2 week holidays is called "A mid winter festival ". Political correctness gone mad is my polite way of saying $$$$$$$.

On the vino now. Down to the last 10 bottles from France and not going again till the end of May. I reckon I’m gonna run out well before that
Same here. Think we've only about 6 bottles left. And May is a long way away....
Well,we did bring 65 bottles extra back for our daughters wedding later this year but I don't think life would be worth living if we dipped into them
I've been working so hard I forgot what day it was ,until I got home and there was a nice bottle of red beside my dinner.
You know what they say ,if you can't beat them ,you have to join them .
But I'm not sharing ,they can get their own.

Yesterday been Thursday, we had dinner at about 4 pm, and the co pilot remarked that it felt like Christmas. A late breakfast (12PM), and 4 hours later dinner and the two adults were half pissed. The kids were off school but the only present that they received was lots of internet access.
For boys under the age of 14 , fortnite is the latest game in town and for girls is it "How to make slime" on youtube.
