Yes lads currently near Bordeaux , weather has been good to us since we arrived last Monday, thunderstorm this am with plenty of wind/rain so we went out a scoot in the van, came back tocampsite and guess what, sunshine is back, polishing off a carton of wine and might have a think about taking the hot plate out if the garage and cook some dinner ....... Or I might just drink some more, depends how hungry the wife or the two girls get, if tooooo drunk I might cheat and go to the restaurant for a prey a portie lol

emptied it after great couple of days away, tried to lock it, wouldnt lock!
central locking not operating so looks like a wee drive to the dealer.....

Not exactly something done to the Camper today...but more something done for the Camper today....

Had a visit from the Sentry Post guys in Dromore....£300 fitted....(the one that drops into the ground).

Often wondered about those, my main issue is that they may only be 1ft or so into the ground and any decent 4x4 with a chain would rip it clean out if a gang wanted to tow your trailor/ caravan/boat away. Looks a good job though and as they say keeps the honest crooks away

Nope...lol....just over 3 feet into the ground and concrete surround as you see in the photo....and as I would be in at the time...hardly worth trying too

as this is also my main vehicle beside being incapable of being towed as it is a permanent 4X4.....big operation involved to try and steal it...and of course it is alarmed too

as viktor says, when fitted by a proper firm they are well anchored.

have seen them diy fitted and only 6 inches into the ground, have even seen them just bolted to the surface!

its one of those purchases you never want to see working !!!

I got new graphics on my Adria Vision at Image Is in Antrim and my what a job Raymond I'd and very reasonable too. Image Is is located on the Ankelon Industrial Estate.

It's nice when one finds someone who does a good job at a reasonable price.

Today I decided to tackle the rear "bumper" (I use the term "bumper" in its loosest possible sense). Some one (not me, it was like that when I bought it - honest) had reversed into something knocking a lump out of the fibreglass and generally cracking the hell out of it.

Well having dug out the old filler - which looked like it might have been wood filler painted white! I realised that the bumper is one layer of not very heavy chopped strand mat fibreglass coated on one side in the thinnest gel coat money can buy!.

so having slightly reinforced the rear of the bumper (because of the general cracking) and filled the hole with isopon and covered the repair with a bit of glass tissue (mainly because I had a bit the right size) tickled it up with the detail sander and its looking better already

Just a splash of flow coat and whilst it might not be as good as new it will be a lot better that it was.

Oh yes and my habitation battery is dead (RIP - donations in lieu of flowers to Banner batteries) its strangest thing, the tell tale is showing green (fully charged) the volt meter is showing 2V (seriously!) and my "smart" charger refused to even turn on when connected to it.

Well I spent the weekend cleaning and fetteling my new(to me) motorhome. I have done myself an injury trying to get what seemed like 4 years worth of crud off the roof, sorted out how a few things worked (thanks to Mark), discovered I have a duff poorly maintained battery that has leaked all over the battery box, replaced totally corroded terminals, hunted for non existent satellites, found that an iPod won't play through the USB on my radio. I'm so tired I need a holiday

LOL...John, There are products which would have made that cleaning much easier but maybe it's too late to tell you that now...

I found that too. It appears that apple store their files in a different format than any other MP3 player. If you can put music onto a usb stick it will play fine. Sort of make it pointless having an ipod for that purpose.. LOL

Try Simon at Lesiure Technical solutions ( in my signature) for good batteries. I replaced mine with 2 Elecsol 110 amp batteries which fit very neatly into the box.

I fitted one (yes, just one) of my home made extra wide mud flaps to see if I need to make any adjustments. See photo.... Note the new tyres too..LOL

No comments on the dirty paintwork please...

did you know that you should drill a small hole at the end of each cracked piece of fiberglass before filling,it stops the crac from spreading.

Well as for products to help with the cleaning, I think I had more lotions and potions than most women would have in their bathroom cupboards, it really was tuff stuff to get off.

I have replaced the battery with one a friend gave me which he never used and all appears to be well with the electrics. I have taken out the radio/DVD player and found the line in so will try that for the iPod.

The to do list is now getting smaller

If the head unit is the same as ours there is a spare line in which we connected the old mp3 player to and used a 2.5 jack to 2x phono extension cable which I was able to route into the slot in the little pouch in the centre of the dash.

We cant do that any longer as the satellite syste now uses the second line in for the surround sound..

It probably is the same, a jvc DVD unit. I tried what I thought was an input jack but that must be for a bluetooth mike because it didn't play the iPod

I am now going to get a cable to plug into the phono sockets. I am looking into the options for changing the tv (eBay is an addictive curse lol) as I fancy a 19 inch instead of the 15 that's fitted as well as a built in DVD as the picture quality from the head unit is poor, even looking at a built in satellite as well as I need to get one. I tried to find the non existing satellites using my old sky box but not having used one of these systems before I failed miserably. I now know that Astra is at 28deg not 22 as I was trying. The sat finder squealled like a trapped pig but as it was a sky box and not a FTA box it would not let me see them. So my thought is if I am looking for a couple of boxes why not just get an all in 1

Be careful if you have the fold down TV as space is tight. We have looked at a few 12volt TVs but have yet to get one which fits..

Our DVD player is fine on screen..

Again, speak to Simon at LTS. He fitted our Dome and FTA box.. Great as there is no setting up..

i'm with Dolmen but I didn't think it gave breakdown cover, only recovery in the event of an accident and the vehicle not being able to continue

Be aware the breakdown cover from dolmen is very basic. If traveling to mainland Europe you would be advised to get additional continental cover with repatriation.

There is no information in the policy about repatriation.
If you ask dolmen for any info they just send out the same booklet you get on renewal.
