Welcome to Friday. In preparation for takeoff, please ensure all negative attitudes are properly stowed. On behalf of your captain, Jack Daniels and myself, welcome aboard. I expect sunshine and good attitudes today for our craic meet in Anderson’s thatched pub. Enjoy the ride.

Not too good a morning. While making coffee we dot a bad burning smell. before I could trace it a Guy in another van can banging to say we were on fire in front.
The Glow Plus relay was melting and burning up,after ripping the cables off it smouldered out, now have toastie fingertips.
Strange since we had been parked up for 2days ,the short must have been brewing for a few days,I suspect the feed to the plugs has shorted somewhere, the engine starts so won't be needing them ,it may have to wait until I get home as I'm reluctant to fit a new one without pulling the loom apart to find the original fault.
So we had a late start for our Paris visit today.

You are lucky it didn’t short while you were sleeping. might not be any harm to remove one of the battery terminals at night or while away from the van. Take care Martin, enjoy the Holiday

Good idea Pat. My mind was going the same way. But since the relay now is in a zip lock bag and there is no connection to the Glow plug's it's not necessary.
But the stink of burning insulation/ circuit board's/ wiring is nearly putting me off the wine. .I'm now sitting on another pitch letting on I don't own the van

Sorry to hear this. I’m sure you have sorted the problem and no need for glow plugs in this heat. Just go on and enjoy your holiday. We are on the boat home tomorrow. All our best you you and Susie.

A complete bollox this morning - database crashed.
I was trying to reply to JJF's post, it looked like it wasn't posting when in fact it was, sometimes. So I had to delete them all once it got fixed and that went faulty and I ended up deleting posts from this topic.
GRR"!!
Well.... could of been worse, but it is only this "Good Morning" topic affected so I am not going to restore, restoring is dangerous and is a last resort.
