After the accident GAC ( General Artists Corporation) talked Dion & The Belmonts, Frankie Sardo, Waylon & Tommy Allsup in to continuing on with the tour, promising them bonus's $$ if they would stay on to finish up the tour & they would add some more artist to the show also. At the end of the tour as Waylon said they never got any bonus's, no extra money, not even a Thank You !!! Photo is February 3rd 1959 & it's "Bobby Vee & The Shadows" doing a one nighter at "The Armory" in "Moorehead,Minn.& Dion & The Belmonts & Waylon at the Armory. "Frankie Avalon" is flown in to "Sioux City,IA to "Shore Acres" to start his part in the tour. Over the next few days "Jimmy Clanton & "Ronnie Smith" would also join the tour !! Rock n' Rollers are being replaced by handsome pop stars !! 
This is really the way the music industry wanted it ! Handsome young men singing to the girls & actting & singing the way they wanted them to. The day of of the unruly, I'll do it my way ,write it my way & sing it my way, was over !! At least for a while !! 
I guess you could say the day of the accident was "The Day That The Music Died" !!!! 
I haven't got a clue what they mean by this: TEX) , who performed with his friend Bob Montgomery. They had played parties and church events and on local radio, but this show was different. With the crowds and the venue and the stage, it had the feel of the big time. Indeed, Holly would open for Elvis twice more that year at the coliseum, which still hosts events. To the bottom left corner you have "Wanda Jackson" in the black !! And in the center, the person that everyone is circled around & shaking hands with is "Minnie Pearl" !!! And I'm sure there are more stars in that photo that I don't even recognize !! It truly is a time capsule, A piece of music history !!
