You only have to take one short boat on the land bridge the tunnel saves that extra boat, but even if I did have to do the two then it's a total of around 4 to 5 hours on boats compared to 24.

We have thought about getting a car out there but the price is too high, while the musso is 13 years old and probably woth around 1000 on a good day the same vehicle and age is around 8000 euro, we have looked. The second hand cars are nearly more expensive than a new one. New ones for example a mitsubishi ASX here is 18000 in Spain it's 16000 euro around 13000 stg

Could you not register the Musso in Spain then and test it out there so? Are you only getting a one year test on the Musso at that age? surely it is costing a fortune between diesel and boats bringing it home every year!

We only get a one year cert in the north, to register out there will cost around 2000 euro and no guarantee that they will accept it especially as it's a right hand drive

France is the same.
They put a lot more value on second hand things especially cars.

We saw a 19 Year old Peugeot 205 with 130,000 km on it and they were asking for €5000

How about Motorhomes? Would France or Spain be s good place to sell a LHD Motorhome?

Yes it probably would but you would need to do some research first as they have a tendency to be cheaper to buy new than uk/Ireland so may not have as high a resale value, saying that as used prices are higher on cars they may hold a premium.

Is yours lhd pat

Might be worth looking at when you are over Pat.

They will require the headlights to be changed for their test which is every two years. I am sure if you go to a dealer they will allow for that.
I wonder if they have an import tax like ROI
