The Loughcrew Megalithic Centre has camping and its a great little site. Just down the road from the Loughcrew Cairns which are well worth a visit, assuming you can get the key which is held at Loughcrew gardens as far as i know.
We stayed there for the Autumn Equinox and enjoyed it. The road to it is very tight and a big uphill climb but if you are into Megalithic Cairns then it is well worth a visit.

I would say that quite a few Motorhomers use campsites when it suits them and sure that is the benefit of choice,we use the ones that are open all year during the winter season but mostly wild it during the summer.
Stayed there last year for a 1 night stopover on my way to Doolin. Ended up a 2 night stay because my power steering pipe burst. Little pub 100 yards down the road was a lifesaver.

I will add Beirnes of Battlebridge, just north of Carrick on Shannon. I know because I see it discussed for a possible New Year's Eve meet up on this site. I unfortunately work on NYE

O Riordans caravan park Owenahincha Cork < --- This one is actually closed and whoever picked up the phone advertised was extremely rude, I'll be nowhere near that site ever again.
Wavecrest caravan park Cahirdanial Kerry <--- This is a fantastic campsite, highly recommended. Lovely lady running it as well.
NEW: Top of the Rock – Pod Pairc and Walking Centre, Drimoleague West Cort <--- another great spot open all year around. David and his wife are lovely people and extremely helpful. I was there last weekend.

Might sound silly Dee but done block any vents as they are there for a reason, fill in the gaps and turn up the heater and you will be good to go,
An extra duvet will make a hell of a difference.

Wouldn’t it be great if this information could be added to a description field on the motorhome parking app poi’s? Oops, have I potentially created a lot of work for someone ? 🤭

The details are being added slowly but you are right it is a lot of work. There are a LOT more campsites on the app that you might imagine.

We were there recently, I think they close in Oct for Winter. There is a large field with pitches and EHU but he brings the sheep in to graze. It gets quite cold up there.
