I have vague memories of travelling on one of those in the mid 50's when we were temporarily living in Belfast for a period while HMS Blackpool was being built in H&W. My dad was a Chief Mechanisian at the time and was stationed there during the ships commissioning.

A woman driving the new solution to the problem of wartime petrol rationing, the so-called "the midget car".
This tiny vehicle could cover eighty miles on a gallon of petrol and achieve speeds of up to 45 miles per hour.
The car was produced by the British Motorboat Manufacturing Company in London between 1934 and 1940. The company later changed its name to BMB Engineering. It is possible that some might have been assembled after 1945.
