Terrible treatment, let's hope that people vote with their feet. Fingers crossed Ally and Julie that it will all work out for the best and you will soon be back to enjoying life in a motorhome.

I'd definitely avoid both manufacturer and Dickson's of Perth.

Ally as fellow Motorhomers we are behind you and Julie all the way, purchasing a motorhome is a major investment for anyone and that is why I would always advise to use a creditable dealer so as to have some backup in the event of something like this happening. The back up that you have received from DICKSONS OF PERTH seems like zero and would definitely make me steer well clear of them, they took your money and gave you a vehicle not fit for purpose and do not want to know about your problems.
Not what I would be looking for when purchasing my next Motorhome.

That is great news as I was treated by Adria and my van is 7 years very swiftly. When I co tasted them and sent them pics they had the van back to the factory within weeks. I found Adria excellent to deal with.

I looked at one of these vans earlier this year with a view of changing. Actually glad now I didn't.

I think Itineo will be very anxious to have this issue sorted and have the photos removed asap.
Same for original sellers.

Most people interested in motorhoming are browsing numerous sites and this issue is already widespread and has appeared in numerous sites in different countries.

Hopefully it will soon get sorted.

I am only seeing this info now on clubitineo.net website, it is a well know fault in Itineos before 2010 If you have other instances of it around the internet i would be grateful for the links.

Came across an article on this problem about 5 months ago when I was considering changing to an Itineo.
Can't remember what site it was on though.

It referred to the problem with water ingress which was the main reason I didn't change at the time.

The only one I can find at present is this:-

Surprised that the dealer hasn't been more proactive in resolving this. When I contacted this dealer earlier in the year, the van I enquired about suddenly vanished off their website and no-one called me back as advised. I followed up with a phone call as the van reappeared on their website with a higher a price tag. After my second call, they did start calling and I just ignored. That is my experience!

Great to hear that Ally and let us hope that this is the start of something good by the manufacturer, pity about the original dealer (Dicksons of Perth) and I do hope that they are reading this as I would never consider dealing with a company who have treated a customer in the way that you have been treated.

The more this topic is kept current and spread across forums the more pressure on manufacturer and dealer to resolve it... hopefully.

Fully agree but it is good news that Itineo have made contact with Ally, hopefully this will be the beginning of a successful outcome.
I just cannot understand why (Dicksons of Perth) have not tried to defend their corner so for me their silence is the reason I would never want to deal with them.

If Itineo are serious about breaking into the U.K./Ireland market they need to take the agency off them.

I purchased a new Itineo 740 motorhome last year from Wolkingham Motorhomes its my forth motorhome and I haven't one complaint about the motorhome or the dealer it a pity to see a reputable name been dragged through the gutter because of a dealer, hopefully it will be resolved.

I am being quiet at this time for a purpose.

I should have more information soon, I will say though, I have had no contact from Dicksons of Perth Motorhome dealers or any further contact from Itineo. I have had some good legal advice and I am prepared and willing to see this through until the end, whichever way that ends up.

Have spoke to Hagans again and in person.

For those on some other websites that I have seen and ignored comments such as "he has shot himself in the foot" he'll never be able to sell that van now" I will say this.

We never had an intention of selling the van, we loved it! We still plan to keep it. Once it is fixed by whatever means, it will be as good as new, in fact, better than new, as because of this topic we have identified the manufacturers fault that was in the van from new. The manufacturer should be fixing this van, but we purchased the van from Dicksons of Perth Motorhome dealers so we deal with Dicksons of Perth Motorhome dealers.

More power to you Ally for taking legal advice and following this through, as long as everyone sticks to the facts then there is little that (Dicksons of Perth ) can do other than man up and do the honourable thing.
I would say that although their responses have been zero they will almost certainly have been monitoring this topic for any form of slander of defimation to which their response would be instant.
It is always nice to do business with people that will take care of you if a problem like this arrises.

It's a sad story in the motorhome business but seems all to common with some dealers coupled with some badly made motorhomes and poor quality control.
We had big issues with our cotswold but after 6 months the dealer replaced it after auto sleeper refused so can't speak highly enough of provincial motor homes which used to be Savilles.
Really hope your pride and joy gets repaired to your satisfaction Ally . Once repaired to the way it should of been wether you keep it or not it will be done right and last many years.
With modern vans 60 to 150k being normal you would think at the price if a house they should have a cast iron warranty for 10 years

It is great to see that Provincial Motorhomes sorted your problems and hopefully you will go on to have many happy and enjoyable years with your new Motorhome.
This is what most people expect when parting with such a large amount of money but it is very clear that some dealers are much more honourable than others.

Ally. I know you aren't concerned about that comments .but I'll bet anyone with a similar Motorhome are shitting themselves in case they have the same problem lurking behind that nice finish around the bed mountings ,if they are not well ,ostriches come to mind.
What the first question a potential buyer is going to ask, did you have the bed problem sorted .
Best of all you'll be able to say , of course do you want to see the paperwork.

So far Itineo have not contacted me further.

I think it's an Adria for me next time.............

A Motorhomecraic member had issues with their Adria, after complaints to the dealer nothing happened. After Adria were contacted, the Motorhome was brought back to the Adria factory, repaired and rebuilt, sent back again and all for FOC! This was 8 years since they had purchased it! The Franchise was taken off the dealer.

That's a company that cares about it's reputation!

Adria was acquired by Trigano group a couple of months ago (who own Benimar, Rollerteam, Chausson, Challenger, Eura Mobile to name but a few). I expect that with time, they will probably be managed through the UK team in Humberside. I have contacted the Humberside team a couple of times regarding paperwork and they have been excellent.

I think that this is very short sighted thinking on the side of Dicksons of Perth who could have gained such possitive feedback if they had made the effort to offer some kind of help but instead they have taken the approach of zero customer help.
I do not understand why they have not taken the opportunity to explain their side if they believe that everyone is wrong except them as that would be my approach.
I know where i will not be going looking for a Motorhome.

I can sympathise with you as I had a problem with my Euramobil. I bought it new in 2003. I ordered it at the Bath and West show and picked it up near Birmingham. After about 4 years a gap appeared between the roof and the wall of the toilet. I contacted the dealer in England and he told me to take it to a dealer in NI who thought it was a problem with the floor sinking. He jacked the floor up and it looked as if that was fixed. The gap appeared again but I couldn’t get any satisfaction from the selling dealer. I was skiing in a France that year so decided to take a detour to the Euramobil factory at Spreadlingen in Germany. They inspected the roof and found a problem of the roof separating from the batons. They wanted me to pay for the repair which was to remove the complete roof skin, repair and replace the damaged parts and reskin the roof. The van is 8m long so it was a major job. I stuck to my guns that this should not have happened to that age of van and after serious negotiations they agreed to repair the roof for free. The only problem was I had to bring the van to them at my expense and would take 10 days to repair. I took it over and luckily enough I got a return flight for 20euros from Dublin. When I picked it up they had done a great job and fixed a couple of minor things that they found on inspection. Moral of my story. Stick to your guns and see if the manufacture can help

The Itineo 740JB we purchased from Dicksons of Perth is going to a specialist to get a quote for the work and the repair is being done once we arrange that. Once I have the quote then legal action is being sought. I have had no contact from Itineo or Dicksons of Perth.

Itineo have not replied further despite being quick with a response that they would be contacting their marketing managers. Itineo have completely failed to recognise the problem, it is a manufacturing fault and has happened to other Itineo's. Itineo will never get our custom again, I would suggest to others to be very aware of these issues and be very careful when buying an Itineo, despite being associated with Rapido they seem to be a complete inferior build, or at least completely inferior with their after sales, which should be very worrying to any would be purchaser of an Itineo.

Leisure Technical Solutions will be doing the work required.

just wondering what you are doing this weekend?

The scottish motorhome show is on at the SEC Glasgow http://www.caravanshowscotland.com/exhibitor-list#D and guess who is exhibiting!!!

I wonder how they would feel about a lot of leaflets being handed out detailing how they deal with customers!!

Or drive the Motorhomer over and put it on show in the car park.

As the fat controller said earlier, is there any way of connecting this latest update to the promotional material for this next show that Dicksons of Perth are promoting at?

Why would anyone in their right mind want to deal with a dealership that has treated another motorhomer in the way that you yourself Ally and also Julie have been treated.
I suppose in some ways they may not be up to speed with all this negative press but that is their own fault as they have totally blanked your calls for help.
My advice to anyone going to that show with the view to buying a new motorhome is,how would you like to be treated if you had a problem? Does this story fill you with confidence regarding Dicksons of Perth?
