Just fitted 2 new leisure batteries from Willie. Everything appears to be working correctly
Previous one was working as a heater and rotten egg gas generator!!!!!

Spent the day emptying out the Motorhome getting it ready for sale, after coming up a few years and got an Automatic, so hopefully will give my dodgy knee a bit of relieve. Boy I can't believe how much stuff was stored in such a small place, have it stored in a bedroom and can't hardly get inside the Door. It is time well spent to empty the van once a year and carefully restock it.

How did you get the motorhome into the bedroom?

What did you buy Pat, if it's not another Chausson you will have to change your login name

I know what you mean Pat. You will probably still have missed something, we usually do.

I wish you the best of luck with the new van.
Glad to hear you went for it.
Must try to catch up this summer.

2015 model? Lord No, Larry Goodman. Is not that generous :D
We bought a 2008 Van 25 miles from home. I was looking at Motorhomes on the continent and they appear to be a lot dearer than Southern Ireland, coupled with that you have the expense of Air fares out, Diesel, Ferry costs home then VRT , Number Plates, cost of testing and Tax. I picked up our one this evening, the Tank was half full, over a years Test and a few months Tax so It is ready for Road.
If you are still interested in a Chausson, I would highly recommend one, we have ours since 2010 and we never had a single issue with it in that Time. They are a well built van without any fancy things to give trouble. Best of luck with your search

Great overall, John! but we had one small issue, I filled it with water a few days ago and I knew the dump valve dumped the boiler water since but what I didn't know was that it dumped the water tank also ( The Chausson don't empty the tank) so we arrived in tree grove late in the dark and had to borrow a watering can to add water. Like all Motorhomes there are a few things in the Chausson that I would like in the Knaus and vice versa. The Quick shift transmission is very kind to my knee alright. I didn't want to advertise the Chausson until I was happy with the Knaus so I must take a few photos and figure out how to up load them.

Pat, my knaus doesn't dump the main tank, you unscrew the overflow pipe to drain that tank!

That's the way the Chausson is, John!
I knew the boiler had dumped and I thought I only had to reset the dump valve and bleed the air out of the system , but the tank was empty too, maybe I didn't put in as much water as I thought. It was a last minute decision to go away, we even forgot the power cable.

Check the pipe as there should be an "O" ring on the bottom above the threads to seal it. I cant see there being any difference in how each of the Knaus models handle/store/dump water.

Took off one of the skylights that was double skinned, dismantled it and cleaned it as it was horribly dirty between the panels. A bad design I think, but great light coming through now.
