No alloys as standard.
I requested a price from Auto Trail and was quoted £320 per wheel. That's £1280.
I bought a new genuine Fiat set complete with Bolts and center caps for £630 including delivery.
I still have the steel wheels and genuine Fiat wheel trims to sell.
Price for new Steel wheels is £200 and the new trims are £110.
I have traded the steel wheels for an additional 100amp Battery fitted to the van plus a few other goodies.
The trims will be cleaned and put up for sale shortly. Bound to get soemthing for them..
There, that was a long answer. Bet you wish you had never asked... LOL

Ha,had, yes, Mark, they were a bit surprised! I had to turn round for them to test the co2 then turn again to go in, the lights were no problem, although, I expected them to look hard at the seat belts, didn't really take much notice. Fastest mot I've ever had, she passed and I was away!

A local lad has a FOREST RIVER Georgetown. He took it in for mot a few years ago. Despite a very large notice above the lever and the owners protests that the parking brake must not be applied unless the vehicle is in park, the mot clampet activated the break on the rolling road. They refused to accept liability for the damage done and he had to get a mechanic in to the test centre to remove the busted step motor and unwind the parking brake so that the lane could be cleared. He ordered and fitted a new one. It passed at another more understanding centre without causing further damage. He appealed the decision, with an American specialists report into how the damage occurred but got nowhere with his complaint.

Jeez, that's a f@@@ing horror story!! Must admit to being a little worried when he stomped on the park brake and said it was good as we lurched forward..... They certainly don't understand anything different and don't seem to show any interest either...

I spent a load of money on material for curtains. Then went round to sweet talk my mum so fingers crossed she will have a boring day soon before she heads off on her holidays to make them up for me! I also bought new windscreen wipers but have decided to wait until himself gets home from his work trip to have them installed. I also intend doing some home cooking to stock the freezer in readiness for weekends (I do like to have a decent bit of grub for one meal a day away.)
I am hoping to head to Midelton this weekend and have a nice meal in the Farmgate is anyone heading that way?

The Farm Gate is very tempting, Siobhan but we are going to Canada the following week and I really should get some Farm work done next weekend.

Mark that looks excellent well done. There could be a wee business there and some extra holiday money.
Perhaps I shouldn't have said how much it cost me! LOL

Put my van through the MOT today,it only just scraped through with the back brakes, they need to have 50% efficiency on the back and mine was just that and no more,it looks like i will have to get the load sensing valve adjusted because i fitted new rear leaf springs recently and the ride height is slightly higher than before which distorts the valve slightly. But at least its through for another year.

That's on a brand new van which has probably not had it's awning out. Makes you wonder what a few years old will do.
I was thinking the same thing.
I must say it was easy to clean as it is recent green dirt.

Okay I need to go and buy supplies to clean and shine/wax or whatever you do to the MH.
I intend to bribe my better half with a great dinner, but I know I will need to have the supplies just to hand to him.
So shopping list please?
She is rather in need of a good clean.

There are loads of products on the market and after trying quite a few I have found Fenwicks good at cleaning the van and giving it a bit of a shine, if you feel like polishing that's a different story, use wax and not polish as Polish is slightly abrasive and wax isn't . Mark can give you a list of the best overall as he would be our resident valet expert.

Everyone would have their own ideas about what you need and how to use it.
In my opinion it depends on the current condition of your Motorhome's exterior.
I prefer autoglym products but if your van has a dull finish at the moment you may want to consider using a product called Silky first. Silky is hard work as it is a cutting compound and not a polish.

Pardon?
Mark our van is a 05 and looks like it could do with a good wash at best.
List
Wash with....
Then....
The inside is spotless but that is my domain.
Thanks in advance

Remember shiv, he spent twenty odd hours on a brand new van to get it the way he wants it, so he does know what he is talking about. On the other hand a good shampoo and a coat of autoglym resin Polish should do (got that from what Mark said in an earlier post)

Re: The..... What did you do to your Motorhome today thread!
1/ Rinse whole van with a hose.
2/ Wash all over with autoglym shampoo conditioner and rinse with hose again.
3/ Silky in areas of about a square meter or less. Rubbing very aggressively.
4/ Polish each meter area immediately with Autoglym Super Resin Polish before moving on to the next area.
5/ Repeat points 3 and 4 until whole vehicle is done.
6/ Rinse whole vehicle with hose again
7/ Chamois off all surplus water
8/ Polish whole vehicle with Super Resin Polish again.
9/ Rinse whole vehicle again.
10/ Apply Autoglym Aqua Wax to whole vehicle (except front screen) with a soft sponge.
11/ Rinse whole vehicle with hose
12/ Chamois off all water
13/ Apply a light coat of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection
14/ Buff off with a soft cloth
15/ Step back and enjoy the results of your work.
Use micro fiber cloths for polishing. The softer the better.
Sorry but you did ask.

Re: The..... What did you do to your Motorhome today thread!
Not really what I have done more an update on the engine rebuild - during the strip down and rebuild they discovered the turbo was about to give up the ghost so that has been stripped down and rebuilt, likewise the fuel pump, injectors, full engine strip down and remanufacture, new clutch, new starter motor as well. Turns out the gears in the gearbox were shot so they had to go back to the Italian manufacturers and order new gears etc. The engine has been bench tested and by all accounts runs like new (should hope so as well). The garage in Hungary is going to post a video of it running on YouTube next week as its one of the oldest rebuilds they have done and are by all accounts immensely proud of all the work they have done. Should be on its way back here sometime next week now and hopefully back on the road no later then the 16th of June.
