Hello all! Just wondering if anyone has ever had to go through getting a vrt refund... After returning a vehicle, purchased in NI and registered in ROI?

I'm asking for a friend 🙈

I believe Campers/Motorhomes are excluded from the VRT rebate on export.

He's not exporting. "His friend" is sending it back, "not fit for purpose" or faulty goods or whatever you want to call it.

I think there is info on the VRT website. With cars I think 10 year old is the limit for refund.

The problem or to be more procise the inequity with VRT on motorhomes is that when they were moved off the flat rate system, (€50) in the day now €200, which is not refundable on re-export they left them still in the same VRT category.
So, even though we're now paying 13.5% we're still in the flat rate no refund category.

We're certainly a ripped off community, ripped off with VRT, ripped off at roadworthiness testing, and then prevented parking them where other vehicles are allowed park.
