New aerial from Milenco that Hagans are stocking, omni directional, so no moving about to tune in and claims to be better than a directional aerial. It is quite a bit bigger than the old omni aerial from Status.

Getting one fitted to my new van so will report back after I have used it a few times to see how it is performing.

Only thing I would worry about is snapping it off on low branches etc.

It also says its 4g ready, so does that mean it could be used with a phone/mifi to get a better mobile signal?

Freeview signal can interfere with 4G, this aerial doesn't.

Can I draw your attention to this article

http://www.caravantalk.co.uk/c…0-antenna/

You can indeed :)

Interesting, although I notice the author has not tried one but immediately said it's rubbish.

I have one on trial, if it's no good it is being changed FOC for a Status 550, it also uses a smaller hole than a Status so there will be no detrimental effect by changing it later. So prepared to give it a go and report my findings for the good of Motorhomers everywhere ;)

Got it fitted this morning by Hagans, working marvellous but I have a great signal here so will know more as I travel about.

It is very big! but no higher really than the over cab bed space. I'll take a photo.

Would it look out of place on the roof of a low profile?

It might do, it is quite big and that photo doesn't really show it's size. Although I suppose it's no bigger than a satellite dome.

So far so good, Aerial working great in Antrim - Warrenpoint - KIlbroney, and it had a better picture on some channels than a Status 550 from the same place in Kilbroney.

Very impressed so far, but it is early days, I reckon by the end of the summer I would have a much better idea.

Early opinions though it seems very good.

I saw the one fitted to Ally's motorhome last week and it wasnt as big as I thought it was originally described as.
If it is any help to you Pat I would guess it is about 12" (30cm) high with the largest bit (top) about 16" ish(40cm) Diameter
Our last dome was 16" (40cm) High and about 28" (70cm) Diameter

Nice shiny roof Ally!

I was at the perfect place for a photo at Kilbroney, noticed this whilst sitting in another van. But of course I forgot to take the picture :)

My yard ain't big enough to stand far enough back to get a picture, I am away at the weekend, I'll try and get one then.

Looks a very tall setup for any roof although probably does a good job, however I would prefer the new Status Digital 560 with the signal finder on the booster from which the picture is second to none and sits a lot lower on the roof for travelling.

The 550 had the signal finder on it also as I had one in my last van. The idea of the Milenco is it doesn't need a signal finder and needs no messing about by moving it at all.

So far it has been great and in one place has proved to be better than a Status 550 but it's early days.

I do agree it is quite tall, but no taller than my overcab bed. The convenience of no messing when you want TV, just tune, is quite good.
