Good evening all. Have any of you good people ever used TYREWELD after getting a puncture?
I had a slow puncture last week and brought the camper to get repaired. After watching the lads trying to get the wheel off with great difficulty, I was having nightmares at the thought of getting a puncture on some D road in France, Hence my question.
As always anyone who takes the trouble to answer will get free beer if we meet up........Hobey.

i cant see how tyreweld would work on the van the pressures are too high but if it does it would be great

Just had my tyres done by " Prevent a Puncture" in Clane , Kildare. Cost me 70e. Am told that I won't have to worry about a puncture again.

. Have a look at www.preventapuncture.ie. They may have an agent in your area.

i have mine done,punctures should now be sorted.
tho it doesnt help with a blow out or ripped tyre.

i have been using the same type stuff in mountain bike tyres for years,with no tubes fitted and have never had a leak or puncture.

I have it in the motorhome too.

New tyres being fitted tomorrow morning (ouch) and their version called Tyre Seal done at the same time...

I would suggest it is well worth it Pat

For anyone who is interested and contemplating putting this into the tyres.....If you do, then you need to remember to make sure that the valve is at the 12 o'clock position before either adding air, or checking the pressure, or the tyre will think the valve is a puncture.

This also means you cannot use a remote control monitoring device such as a TyrePal unit to constantly monitor the tyre pressures. It also makes quite a mess when getting the tyres off.....so I guess it is up to you to decide whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

A question - I had heard that this substance works properly only on tyres with an average pressure range and is unsuitable for pressures over 60 psi...can anyone comment?

I am just back from getting my tyres and sealant replaced and have a few answers.

Q: Does the valve need to be at the top when checking pressure?
A: No, just not at the bottom.

Q: Why use camper tyres and not regular van tyres?
A: The Q rating indicates a heaver use intended with thicker side walls to prevent bulging. Insurance companies could invalidate your cover if a claim is made.

Q: Does the sealant work on any vehicle and tyre pressure?
A: Yes, it can be used on any road going vehicle.

Just back from a very pleasant hour with Paul of prevent-a-puncture in Clane. Very nice family business and efficient. All tyres done so hopefully won't need to worry any more about getting a puncture having no spare. Very simple operation.

Hi all, I hope all had a good weekend and that the rain did not dampen the spirits too much?

I was reading an earlier post about Prevent a puncture and decided to check it out. My main
worries were wheel balance and vibrations. I called to their centre in Clane and got my tyres done, I drove over the weekend and there was no problems with the balance and no vibrations so thank you for the post...
