Cleaning fiamma awning fabric

 ·

We were out at the weekend and during a light shower I rolled out the awning to keep a few things dry.
Afterwards I noticed that the fabric has become dirty and in a dire need of a clean. From my caravan days I know that soapy hot water and a scubbing brush works but the MH awning cannot be laid flat to do so. Any ideas folks, before the wife goes at it with the powerwasher.

Spray with mildew remover after a few mins scrub with sweeping brush and rince well. To do upper side drop awning down as low. As possible and repeat above

Hi eirebus, any products in mind? Will a household mildew cleaner work?
Thanks

We cleaned ours very successfully with a weak mix of Jaye's Fluid and water.

Maybe wear a cap or you might get blond highlights (from the bleach)😂

We (he) uses Aldi Power Force cleansing floor wipes. No mess and removes mildew too.

I cleaned mine last week, just used warm water with a soft cloth and some car wash liquid, worked well, but there was no mildew, just grime and some streaks. I used a soft wash brush with extending handle that I have for cleaning the bodywork , it was ideal to reach the top of the awning, when extended, but underneath just used the cloth and a folding step. The key ingredient I'm afraid is elbow grease 😏

I saw a clip on YouTube which I followed. Awning material was very mouldy when I bought the motorhome. Used a good long handled brush and applied water & household bleach (not too much) to both sides & rolled the awning back up & left it for 30 mins. I rolled it and washed it down with fresh water & let it dry & it was like new. Followed a tip I found somewhere yesterday to remove black k streaks on the motorhome body- whitening toothpaste. Did the trick.

Hi folks, thought I would get the awning done sooner. Anyway I went with Ally's suggestions of hot water and jayes fluid. I used a telescopic car wash brush a scrubed topside first and then underside. I then rolled up the awning and left it for 20 mins.
Finally after unrolling the awning I conected the water hose to the brush and scrubed it again with lots of fresh water. Like new again
